I would advise that your first fish tank isn't huge, even if you do get a bigger tank later, you will need a smaller tank for isolating ill fish.
So with that in mind I'd recommend this 24 litre tank (nearly 7 us gallons) - here is your Amazon link -

Which fish tank bacteria to buy?
It seems weird at first to buy bacteria to add to your fish tank. But what they will do is take the ammonia in your fish tank, which is harmful to fish and "cycle" it into nitrate. Which is less harmful to fish, although we will deal with the nitrate by adding plants soon.
For now I have selected you this bacteria product that I use in my own tanks without a problem - here is your Amazon link -
Ammonia is constantly being produced in your tank, from excess food for fish, fish poo, fish wee and dead matter, so it's import to constantly monitor ammonia levels to make sure your fish tank is cycling.
