The Future is wobbly
Back in the 80's the future promised to use was a utopia - flying cars, bullet wounds healed with lasery type devices and a pill that could cure any disease. All the dystopian films seemed farcical, I mean we're too smart to let governments and large corporations monitor and control every aspect of our lives...right?
Fast forward to today and it seems everything's gone all Michael J Fox and we're looking at a miserable future.

What it is Google's Project Stream?
Google has announced "Project Stream", the latest in the omnipresent mega-corp's arsenal of invasive technology. It will allow you to stream high-end games to your Google Chrome browser, where hopefully they will play with very little latency.
For the initial test, Google has partnered with other well known shitter on things you enjoy, Ubisoft, in a sort of contest for who can ruin the video games industry the fastest.
The trial phase they are working on will feature Ubisoft's Assassins Greed, fuck knows what number, and is open freely to those living in the United States of Freedom (hurry while spots last..to play test the game that is, not move to America. Currently they only accept Mexicans into America - in impressive numbers at that).

How Google will damage yet another industry?
Far from the sunny pr Google has for censorship and it's continual attempt to legitimise e-theft, whether that be music, film or gaming footage, their new venture does have a downside.
You see the implications to damage both the gaming and PC industry is huge. Firstly, high-spec PC's would be gradually faded out, as they would no longer be a requirement for the common man to play games, which intern would make owning a high-end PC only necessary for those who need them for work - thus driving their prices up, eventually locking most people out.
As for games themselves, well owning them will be come a thing of the past. Having your game accessed only through a virtual machine, not only means you have lost the right to resell, but also store your game for the future and will be entirely at the whim of a company who will delete your presence if you do something they don't like (ask Alex Jones if you don't believe it).
Google already have a library of information on each of us from our viewing habits on Youtube, searches on Google and our texts on Android mobile devices. They will gather even more information to profile you whether it be play style, types of game you play and no doubt in game chat.
The whole thing could lead to a Minority Report situation, not in the fact you will be running everywhere and having close-ups of your arse like Tom Cruise, but more a guilt before you have done anything. Anyone who's is not a complete retard can see the current political climate makes this scenario, not just a probability, but an eventuality.
However if they can get the technology to work I could see this taking off big, as most people can't see further than the end of their big fucking nose. Games will no doubt work on a lease/streaming pay scale, most likely £10 a month and you can play however many games are on the service.
Google look to take PC gaming the same way they did the mobile gaming market - into the gutter, with the help of the bottom feeders.
